About Well Counseling Collective

Hi, I'm Alex!

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Newport Beach. I work with children, teens, and adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or unsure how to move forward, even when things appear “fine” on the outside.

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and used to holding things together for others. At some point, that way of coping stops working, and they find themselves feeling burned out, disconnected from themselves, or caught in cycles of overthinking and self-criticism. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of what’s been weighing on you.

My goal is to offer a grounded, supportive presence and a place where you don’t have to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or have all the answers.

Why I Do This Work

I’m drawn to this work because I’ve seen how easy it is for people to lose themselves while trying to meet expectations, manage relationships, or push through difficult seasons of life. Many clients come to therapy during a time of crisis, while others reach out because something has quietly become unsustainable. You don’t have to be at a breaking point to benefit from receiving support.

I believe meaningful change happens when you feel seen and supported—not rushed or fixed. My work is shaped by years of clinical experience, collaboration with other providers, and a deep respect for the complexity of each person’s story.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is collaborative, grounded, and responsive to what you’re experiencing in the moment. I focus on helping you feel supported and less overwhelmed while we make sense of what’s been getting in the way.

We’ll work on what feels most pressing right now, while also exploring the patterns that tend to repeat. This will allow us to gain greater clarity, improve self-trust, and identify ways of navigating the challenges you’re facing that feel more manageable and sustainable over time.

What “Well” Means

The name Well reflects the heart of my practice. A well is a place of depth, nourishment, and restoration—a place you draw from when resources feel depleted.

Therapy at Well Counseling Collective is meant to be a space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself, and access what’s already within you, to feel more like yourself again.

Experience & Training

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with experience in various private practice settings and behavioral healthcare programs serving a diverse range of populations and ages. My background includes work with individuals and families facing complex challenges, which informs my attachment-focused, trauma-informed approach.

I am EMDR trained and a Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI) Practitioner. I integrate trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches in a way that is attuned to what feels supportive, appropriate, and helpful for you, guided by your needs, readiness, and goals.

If you’re curious about working together, I welcome you to reach out and see if it feels like a good fit.
